One of Australias premium native hardwoods is Corymbia maculata, commonly known as Spotted Gum, with its attractive markings and vibrant colours. The high degree of durability and strength in Spotted Gum makes it a perfect timber for Decking or exterior and interior projects.
There are four species of Spotted gum that grow along the east coasts of NSW, Queensland and Victoria Australia. Sawn timber from these species are available at RHS Timber Supplies. Spotted Gum have straight, slender trunks with smooth bark, giving the trees a spotted appearance.
Spotted Gum ranges from light brown through to dark red-browns. Spotted Gum has also been named as an Australian Standard bushfire-rated timber and is resistant to both droughts, fires, and grows healthily with only natural rainfall.
